Multilingual Writing LAB

The Multilingual Writing LAB is a collaborative project that promotes multilingual and multicultural writing among older youth and adults, while supporting educators in diverse learning environments. Through innovative digital tools, the project fosters social inclusion and creative expression across languages and cultures.

Co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union through the National Agency for Erasmus+ in Iceland (Rannís), the project is a partnership between Ós Pressan (Iceland) and Red Door (Denmark), connecting two vibrant cultural networks. The project runs from February 1, 2025, to May 31, 2026.

The project includes among others:

  • Needs Assessment Report: Research into the current landscape of multilingual and multicultural writing in Iceland, Denmark, and Europe, identifying gaps and needs among learners and educators.

  • Multilingual Writing LAB Platform: Creating a free online hub offering online courses on multilingual writing, available in various languages with English, Danish, and Icelandic subtitles.

On 2–3 September 2025 at the creative co-working community Hafnar.haus in Reykjavík, the Multilingual Writing LAB Training, co-organised by two multilingual writing collectives and networks Ós Pressan and Red Door, brought together over 30 participants from Iceland and Denmark for two days of dialogue, creativity, and exploration of multilingual expression.
