DraBiNa: Drama – Biography – Narrative
DraBiNa was an innovative educational project supporting the activation of older adults. Led by the St. Jadwiga Foundation in Morawa, together with the Via Salutis Foundation (Poland) and Ós Pressan (Iceland), the project was funded by the Active Citizens – National Fund (EEA Grants).
The initiative developed and tested a new method of working with seniors, combining drama, biography, and narrative. This approach drew on the life experience of older adults to strengthen their activity, social engagement, and leadership within local communities.
As part of the project, we created:
the original DraBiNa activation method,
a dedicated training programme for senior educators,
practical publications (“Toolkit” and “Senior Workbook”),
and a cooperation network of 60+ education experts.
DraBiNa strengthened the capacity of NGOs and social organizations working with seniors and contributed to more professional, creative, and engaging gerontological education.
